Your teeth are your window to the world. One of the first things people notice about you when you meet them is your teeth. Keeping your teeth in good shape is important for many reasons. If your teeth are not in good shape it can make it difficult for you to eat certain foods and it could also affect the way you talk. But the other reason to keep your teeth in good shape is because of the old adage; first impressions count. It is unfortunate, but true. Many people do judge a book by its cover and your teeth are like the cover of your book. Competition for jobs could be one reason why people want their teeth to be white, really white. When you meet a new employer, you want to make a good impression and your teeth, believe it or not, can help. For one thing, if you know your smile is at its best, you won't have any problem giving everyone you meet a nice big smile. It will increase your confidence and that confidence will be transmitted to the person you are meeting. How Long Does Whitening Last?If you have us whiten your teeth, either in the office or with a custom-made take-home tray, your newly whitened teeth can stay white for up to three years. Of course, to a large extent, how long the white teeth last depends on you. You must maintain a good oral health regimen, particularly with flossing and brushing. But you also may have to change some of your habits. For example, if you drink a lot of coffee or dark tea, or you smoke, your teeth won't stay white as long as they could. You frequently need touch-ups every few months, but you shouldn't get a full treatment more frequently than once a year. When you come in to discuss your whitening options, we will be happy to explain the process. We can also give you a list of foods and beverages to indulge in sparingly or not at all so you can keep that smile white. |
