Are There Options to Replace Teeth if You Have Oral Cysts?

Are There Options to Replace Teeth if You Have Oral Cysts?Oral cysts can be the source of a great deal of trouble. Depending on where they form, the reason for their formation, and a few other factors, they can cause pain and discomfort.

In some cases, they could require surgical intervention, and in some very bad cases, they could even cause you to lose a tooth or even part of your jaw.

If you are losing, or have lost, teeth, you might be wondering if you have options available to replace them. The good news is that you do. There are a number of options to replace your teeth. Here are a few of them.

Bridges

If you have only lost a few teeth, one option to consider is a dental bridge. With a dental bridge, we construct a replacement tooth and affix it to the adjacent teeth. Properly installed, a dental bridge appears and functions pretty much the same as the missing tooth.

Dental Implants

Of course, the most realistic tooth replacement is a dental implant. Getting a dental implant will result in a “tooth” the looks, feels, and functions exactly like your natural tooth did. First, we will implant a metal “root” in your jawbone. After it heals, we will affix a “tooth” to the “root.” The “tooth” is usually made out of a specialized dental ceramic.

Getting a dental implant takes longer than other forms of dental reconstructions. You will visit our office a number of times over the span of several weeks. However, when it is finished, nobody will be able to tell that it's not your real tooth.

Having oral cysts can cause a number of challenges. The good news is that we can help you. If you have any questions about replacing your teeth, please feel free to reach out to us. We're here for you!
