How to Adjust the Bite When Teeth Come Together AwkwardlyBad bites are a part of life for some people. In fact, in some cultures, bad bites are fairly common. However, if you don't get them fixed, these bad bites can cause trouble. Are you not sure whether or not you have a bad bite? Let us help you figure that out.

What Is A Bad Bite?

Someone is said to have a bad bite when their teeth don't meet at the natural place where teeth come together. For some people, their top teeth curve too far over their bottom teeth. Their bottom teeth might not come down over the front teeth at all. Your teeth may meet too far to the left or too far to the right.

Over time, this bad bite can cause your teeth to have excessive wear on you and your teeth. Bad bites can also mean that you may have a swollen and painful jaw. If you do have a bad bite, you may not be able to do tall of the things you want to do.

Repair for a Bad Bite

There are several things you can do to fix a bad bite. You may want to think about visiting us to see if you or your child can be fitted with an expander. Expanders are used to gradually increase the width of your jaw- usually your upper jaw- to even out your bite.

You may also want to think about invisible aligners. Invisible aligners gradually straighten and space your teeth. They can also be used to correct a bad bite that is not too severe. However, if your bite is severe, you may need braces. Braces are used to correct a moderate to severe bad bite.

Do you have questions about your bite? Do you think you might need to see someone about your bite? Why not give us a call today, and let us help you?
